I installed new hard drive, requiring re installation of XP from CD. I now
have no sound from computer nor speakers. AC97 audio device cannot start.
Code 10 error.
 
Go to Start/Run, and type DEVMGMT.MSC , highlight the sound device, Action menu, "Uninstall", then restart Windows, to find the
device drivers again automatically.
