audio noise

After following all your good suggestions, I got my sound back, however a
strange thing happened today when I booted up, noise like static and voices
in background.I checked everything that I knew to check then tried 2
different system restores, the last one is working so far.I am allmost afraid
to re install my printer, if the problem is gone will it stay gone?Running
xphome edition upgrade from me, sp2, internet ex 6.Is there a specific list
under services that should always be automatic. That is how I found the sound
problem audio was off. Before I put my printe back on I wonder if there is a
service that needs to be activated, printer lexmark, multi function.,x6170.
Thanks

The best way to sort this out is to reinstall the printer, as it carries no
risk and is unlikely to be affected by the previous problem(s).

This web site is the best source for information on services - note I
see this site is currently down for some reworking. I would expect
it'll be up soon:

I get that the name is registered to Network Associates now?
What happened??"
