Has anyone found a driver for ESS Technologies 1869 that
is supported by W2K ? I have downloaded from several
sites but none are working.

Have you tried the embedded driver in Win2K? According
to http://www.esstech.com/techsupp/drivers.shtm the driver
is included in Windows' installation CD.

I did try this. The message received was " This device
disabled because the firmware of the device did not give
it the required resourses (code 29)." That's when I
started looking for sites from which to download it.

Then there's a hardware conflict between the ESS and another
device. Is this an onboard audio chip or a card? If the ESS is
built into the motherboard, check your system manual to see if
it shares IRQs or other resources with another onboard device
and/or PCI slot(s). If so, either disable, uninstall or relocate
whichever device is sharing and try reinstalling the ESS driver.
