Audio Device Access in RDP Session

I just built a WAV file server on win2k server. I also bought a Wyse winterm
with a flat panel display to put next to my stereo to run Win Media Player ,
I was distressed to learn (after all my labor and expense), I couldn't access
the USB audio device that I have connected to my stereo. Only via the console
can I do this. Is there some trick or method (virtual channel) that wouldn't
take a programmer to do, to trick the win2k server into being able to use the
USB audio device when I run Win Media Player in an Term Serv session ?
Thanks

I don't understand. You are RDP'ing to a different box, and want to play
their WAV files on your speakers?

The WAV files are on the win 2k server, the Win Media player is run in a RDP
session to this server. The media player in the RDP session can't see the USB
audio device connected to the server.........

So, you want to remotely connect and have the sound play from the servers
speakers?

the win2k server has the media on it. I wish to stream the media on this
server through the server's audio device. This obviously can be done using
Win Media Player when logged into the console. I bought a thin client to put
next to my stereo, the server is in the basement with a wire from its audio
port throught the floor to my stereo. If I use the thin client to RDP to the
Server and Run Win Media Player, Win Media Player can't use the Audio device
on the server. I assume the RDP client tries to redirect the to the local
sound port on the thin client, which it doesn't have. So I wish to somehow
force the RDP session to use the physical audio port on the server. Is that
more clear ?
thanks

Yes, not sure it's possible though ; ). I have a box I can test this on
though. E-mail me in a day or two if I don't respond or if no one else
posts an answer. (e-mail address removed)

(obviously remove nospam)
