Hello,

In the one location it is being played using the media player setup...the
other is Movie Maker itself...Movie Maker can not handle audio from a
12-bit recording.....the symptom is exactly what you describe. Movie Maker
needs a 16bit recording.

There is a tedious solution if you can not re-record the video.

Using a program like Audacity (free) you record the audio whilst playing
the video using Media Player. Then using Audacity you convert it to 16bit.
You then import the audio to movie maker and drop it onto the Narration
Audio Track and you MUTE the audio from the video file. you have to move
the new audio track backwards and forwards until you get it into
synch...zoom in as far as you can on the timeline will help you with this
giving more control over how much the audio is moved left and right

There is a link on my website for Audacity.....go to my site and click the
option for the OLD SITE and then go to GREAT LINKS > Audio. It is claimed
by people with more knowledge than me that Audacity is the best free audio
editing program available. I use some of its options from time to time...it
is a very accomplished program.

Interesting John! Yes I will have to see if there is a setting in the IPAQ
to change the recording attributes so this will not happen again. But... I
may not be able to adjust how the video cam program records...

Having a real camera will of course help me some to in the future but this
ipaq is so neat to take into city meetings and record with... with the
case on it most people think you are balancing your wallet on your knees.

If you walk in wit a canon XL-2 they think mike wallet and the 60 minutes
crew is there.

will check out the program you mentioned this evening

many thanks!

John, That is a neat little camera too... no what I have is a Hewlett
Packard PDA that has a 1.2 meggapx camera in it that also shoots video!

here is the link to it....

http://www.shopping.hp.com/cgi-bin/...type=product_detail&script_name=product.cgiwe
got it originally to survey wireless access points as we want to wifi the
whole downtown area here in Glendale.

here is a link.... in the folding lambskin case it looks like you are
taking movies or stills with an open wallet as the flap is open to view the
lcd and the camera is on the back of it.. we use a one gig sd card to
record to.

here is a link to a weird little video I made of the balloons at night...
there is some explanation due as there is also an odd cut to a strange doll
that looks like one of the council members and a bulldozer shot also
because some of the council wish to destroy historic buildings in our
downtown. ( you would sort of have to live here to connect all of this).

you can even start the camera and do PDA things with it make beeping sounds
in meetings but they are being recorded... indeed great fun!

Using the PDA it is sort of like trying to make movies with the bare
minimum! we also have a jvc vhs-c camera that is a good looker but nasty
to use we just tool out of one of the museum displays and got a batter
for... the downfall of this unit are:]

1. no diopeter adjustment so I can not see well to focus with my old bad
eyes...

2. a weird chroma coloring that runs though the picture... do not know if
the heads need cleaning or the nuvicon tube is getting weird ( advice?)

no manual so I shot a city council meeting with it and had it set on
daylight and everything is sortta orange! ( finally figured out there was a
little control that could change this)

soon we will a good digital movie camera....

Hello,

Yes got it that time. That's not bad at all.

Have you ever been up in a balloon? I did once....It was a brilliant ride
on nice day. The one thing I hated was the hot rain...from the inside of
the balloon ...but maybe in Glendale you do not get much rain of any sort!!

Anyway, I though that was pretty good stuff. My oldest lad uses an iPaq
with the GPS add-on...He has recently purchased his first DV camera
(Canon).....but I bet he would have purchased the iPaq add-on if he had
know :)

John: the amazing thing is that this ipaq has the camera actually inside
the ipaq! there is also an ipaq add on for other ipaqs also.. for example
if you had the 4705 ipaq with the vga screen you could add the camera to
the top of it!

being a still camera of 1.2 megga pix and a simple video camera I am sure
his cannon will produce better shots for movies.... the fun thing is it is
always in my top pocket so if I want to grab shots I can!

Balloons! yes have been up in one... rain is not too much of a problem in
Arizona as we have a desert here!
