Attributes on CD-RW

Kristen

Hi,
I am running Windows XP on my Laptop. Every time I save
a file to a rewritable cd it changes to read only and
will not let me change it. When I try to change the
attribute I get a message that says: An error occured
applying attribute to the file

D:/(file name)

Access is Denied

I am the only person that uses the computer so I am the
admistrator, how can I correct this problem so I can
update my files on a rewritable CD??

The built in CD burning features of XP treat CD-RW media, just like CD-R
media, with the exception that you can re-format CD-RW media. To do what
you wish, you will need 3rd party software, such as InCD or DirectCD, which
supports "packet writing". InCD is available from http://www.nero.com/ as
part of Nero, and DirectCD is available from www.roxio.com as part of Easy
