file attributes

I have a old file that I want to delete on our server. When I change the
attributes from read only to nothing then close and open the file again the
read only attribute appears again. I have done this as administrator, on the
computer from whcih the file was created and I cannot change this attribute
so that I can delete the file. Any help out there.

The read only attribute is default for XP you will not be able to remove it,
but it makes no difference for private files, the read only attribute does
not normally affect your attributes, the problem seems to be you need to
delete the file on the server with system administrator privileges and if I
understand correctly your are using a local administrator account. If the
said file can not be deleted with the system administrator account it may be
it's a spyware Trojan and you may have to delete it with an antispyware
program. Adaware SE Personal Edition, Spybot Search & Destroy,
SpywareBlaster and CWShredder are the most recommended antispyware programs.
