Ah yes, the so-called "Moral Majority." Biggest bunch of hypocrites
inhabiting planet Earth! Not even a majority of the effin' world
community can even read English, let alone understand our vulgarisms to
be offended by them! Should we censor out all of Shakespeare's
vulgarisms, just because you believe that a majority of our world
community doesn't accept such language?! !
The result: a very large off-topic thread that
has nothing to do with windows-xp anymore.
It's about the group itself. To my way of thinking, a discussion about
the group's dynamics is a perfectly acceptable topic. [And a hell of a
lot safer territory than threads about top posting!]
Now you will probably say:
'they have to get used to foul language, that's their problem'.
Well goddamn boy, it's not like any of us has really been sheltered from
it! Don't you go out to the movies, or sporting events? Don't you
watch cable TV? Haven't you ever had a woman beg you to f*ck her
harder? And if you have, did you stop to tell her, "that a majority of
our (world) community does not accept such language?"
But
the fact of the matter is that many people do not expect and accept
such language, resulting in large off-topic threads.
As the immortal Howard Stern said, "Then turn the effin' dial!"
Or as the good book says, "And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out!"
Just take a look
at the topics covered in the ng alt.os.windows-xp: this ng has been
"kidnapped" by a few anarchists who think they can say whatever they
want in the name of free speech. Don't get me wrong: I do not object
to free speech, but they better move to a ng called
'alt.foul.language' or 'alt.obscenities'; there they can insult
anyone as much as they can; and everybody knows what to expect!
From what I have read from that particular NG, in the past, some of
those "anarchists" also give very good answers to technical questions
too.
Another problem is that it attracts the wrong kind of people. In
alt.os.windows-xp there are people who never talk about windows-xp,
it's always about off-topic issues and it's usually obscene.
How would you know that unless you, of your own volition, kept reading
those "wrong kind of people"'s posts? Is there something or someone
forcing you to read these "wrong kind of people"'s posts? If not, then
when are you going take responsibility for your own actions?
And it chases away people who have a good understanding of
windows-xp, but don't want to read that many obscene postings (while
they could very well help other people). That's why the S/N-ratio of
alt.os.windows-xp is about 10-20%, very low IMHO
I think you really might need to re-read the "Official" FAQ for
alt.os.windows-xp again!

"This software is licensed, not sold." [After the fact of the sale
actually occurring! !]
"The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought
significant quantities of uranium from Africa." ["The CIA didn't make
us [The White House] take those 16 words out of the State of the Union
Address, so it's all Director Tenet's fault!" !]
Now if you want to worry over some words, worry about all the
institutionalized LIES that are being forced-fed down our throats, not
about what some blithering idiots post to the USENET.
"The people with the feeble minds are those that show that they are
affected by 'vile language.'"
Oh, one more thing! I cross-dressed this post to alt.os.windows-xp,
because "a majority of our (world) community does not accept such"
impolite behavior, like talking behind peoples' backs!
