Attempting to access Printer Properties causes explorer to crash

Trying to access the Printer Properties in the Printers and Faxes
dialog consistently causes explorer to crash. If I right click a
printer, then before the right-click menu even appears, explorer
crashes, with the following text added to the application event log:

Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, faulting
module version.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x0000155d.

Alternativly, if I try to left click a printer and then click on 'Set
Printer Properties' in the Printer Tasks pane, explorer doesn't crash
so dramatically, but I get this error message on screen in an alert
box:

Function addess 0x77c0155d caused a protection fault. (exception code
0x0000005) Some or all property page(s) may not be displayed

Does anyone know why this is happening? Can anyone suggest an
alternative way in to the printer properties?
