attachments are missing

when I forward e-mails w/attachments from my work e-mil (outlook 2003) to my
Windows mail the attachments are sometimes missing. I have gone to
tools>Options and unchecked "do not allow attachments that could potentially
be a virus." This is very annoying. I have to login to comcast.net in a web
browser to access these attachments. Whys is this happening?

Outlook has a proprietary "RTF" format for attachments that is not
readable by most non-Outlook email programs.

With that message selected in Windows Mail, press Ctrl-F3, which will
reveal the raw source code. Do you see a whole bunch of random
characters perhaps preceded by a reference to "winmail.dat"?
That would be evidence of a non-compatible attachment.

Outlook users must be careful to send only with plain text or standard
HTML format.
