Attaching a notebook hard drive

I want my XP machine to be able to read a laptop's hard drive. What do I
need to make this work. Is there a external USB accessory of some sort that
will do the job?
 
Yes there are special USB cables to produce a Laplink like effect.
The cable comes with software that enables you to see folders and files
on both computers at the same time and transfer files.
Very easy to setup, just connect and run the software on both computers.
