My question will indicate I am new to this qebsite development stuff . How
can I make a sub-page accessible only by knowing a fixed password (without a
db or extensions). Sort of like having a field that qualifies the data
enetered and hyperlinks to a page if the response matches a fixed value.

You can create a subweb with that particular page in it and adjust the
security settings on that subweb to require a password/username. I believe it
is under user or roles in the administration section of the site
"Tools->Server" You have to be editing the page from the server in order
access this section from withing FrontPage.

....and *only* if the host allows it. Many don't.
