Hi and thanks for taking the time to read this post.
Now to my question I have windows XP ( 5.1 ) and I
want to run Norton SystemWorks (but the problem lies in
thr Utilites [Norton Disk Doctor]) now everything loads
on well but when I go to run Norton Disk Doctor I get A
message that reads:-{NORTON DISK DOCTOR-TESTING DRIVE C:)
The operating system or another process, Currently has
exclusive access to this drive or some of it's files.
Norton Disk Doctor cannot continue with a repair under
these conditions,
A repair can be scheduled to occur the next you restart
the system
Norton Disk Doctor can still diganose this drive if 'fix
errors' is unchecked. Would you like to schedule a
repair.
Yes No
If some one could tell me how to fix this problem or what
I have to do so I can repair the disk!

I have ran speed disk what my m8 suggested to no addvale
but I'll try anythig as I want this program to work.

Thanks for helping Mindless

yeah, either uncheck the "fix errors" box or reboot. Unchecking the box
still lets norton test your drives. Are you having another problem?

The internal check disk in XP is far superior to the Nortons System Works features. The defrag is also superior. In short you can already do everything needed to perform such checks and cleanups from within XP and as the tools are designed solely for XP and no other OS they are the ones to use. Kinda like having a proper repair kit just for your Ferrari and then buying a cheap Canadian Tire tool kit and trying to get it to work. The Check Disk is designed to function in this way as repairs on all system components can then be performed including the processes that are active as soon as you boot up. The only good tool left from Symantec is Norton Anti Virus and Norton Ghost. Good luck.
