ATI 9800 AIW

My question is if I have a ATI9800 AIW with 128M of RAM on the video
card, is that enough memory to fill a 1600x1200 display? Maybe a 256
would be better? I can display it in Windows, or any other program but
in Solidworks 2005 it has trouble with running at full 1600x1200. If I
don't have the windows maximized it works fine, the window would be
opened 75 percent of the screen.

Thanks

Do the arithmetic. horizontal x vertical x pixel depth / 8 gives you the
amount of RAM needed to hold the frame buffer. You will find that it is
much, much less than 128 MB.

A board that is on the certified list would be better. The Radeon 9800 is
listed on the Solidworks site as being not recommended and working with
limitations. It sounds like you've encountered one.

Well I just bought 1 gig of RAM and installed into my computer. That
fixed the problem with the jerky display.
