ATI 9600Pro dual display (256MB) with 2.54GHz CPU

First time use a dual display on my system with 2GB of memory and a 2.5GHz
CPU.
The system/display freezes very often especially when listening to widows
media player and doing something else at the same. generally, I have at
most three to four applications running at the same time, typically, playing
media player, browsing IE, one Adobe PDF open and Outlook.

Am I asking too much? My previous ATI AIW 8500 never had this problem. Is
it a common dual display problem or am I missing something?
The newest ATI drivers are used. Running out of option to me...

Hope someone can share your info or experiences especially on this kind of
combination.

Well, I did. But the asus P4G8X is kind of out of date. Asus is not keeping
to it new enough.
One of the issue is maybe my 9600pro is P4G8X but my MB can not give 8X
(though the MB claims 8X).
On the other hand, my previous AIW8500 was running 4X "smoothly". So I
guess 4/8X is the focus. I believe the 9600Pro is not handling dual display
well...

Your motherboard uses the Intel chip set E7205
Your motherboard does support AGP 8X.
Have you tried updating to the latest BIOS?
The later BIOS updates talk about improved support for 8X

Try Intel web site for chip set drivers.
Intel may have come out with newer drivers that
the Asus site may not have.
