ATI 7500 PCI Card

Fred Schwaner

Hello All,
I had my 7500 running for about 10 months using a DST1000 card for a DVB
Coship 3188C receiver. During a recent power outage things went really down
hill for me. When power was restored I received at the lower right hand
corner "Found New Hardware"
"ATI TV Wonder Video Capture"

The PC locks up (mouse/keyboard dead) before I try to connect to the
Internet. I powered down and I removed the DST-1000 and coax cable and the
message doesn't appear. When I reinsert the card the message appears and
the PC is locked. I used a new DST-1000 with the same results. The ATI
7500 PCI card continues to show audio/video on my TV which it is all I want
it to do.

Any suggestions as to what went wrong and how to get things back to normal?
Thanks for listening.

Regards.
Fred

So if I understand the problem correctly, the card outputs to your tv
but windows detects it as new and locks up each time you boot up?

Did you try going into safe mode and deleting all the old drivers from
the device manager? A lot of times I have problems with hardware
because windows is trying to use old drivers even after new ones have
been installed (and it knows the old ones are bad.) Perhaps your
problem is similar...
