AT&T and Unified Messaging - Faxing

I just got a new AT&T package and it works fine until I try to retrieve a fax
or a voice mail through my AT&T inbox. When I click to open, Explorer shuts
down. I've tried accessing it through Explorer, Netscape, and Mozilla and
it's the same thing. I'm thinking it's got to be a Windows issue. Here's the
error message:
SysFader: iexplore.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x7c901010 referenced memory at "0x0000001c". The memory
could not be "read".

I spent a lot of time on the phone with the AT&T guy, over several days, and
he couldn't help me. He guided me to this website. I even checked the
Knowledge Base but I found it incomprehensible and all about 2000 and not XP
Professional, which is what I have.

Nothing else happens and I can reopen Explorer without a problem.

Can anybody help me, please?

well, it would be extremely
helpful if you could explain
what all you and that audacious
advisor had done.

otherwise i don't think it would be prudent to repeat
all the same steps here as well and over the next
several days. fortunately someone already
invested time for a similar issue here:

in conclusion
it sounds like you may
be having an issue with malware.

Unfortunately, the ATT guy didn't tell me what he did. I'll follow the thread
from Why me 143 and see if I can follow it enough to repeat the steps.

I worked with the ATT tech this morning and, while we didn't solve the
problem--which he thinks is a JAVA conflict--we did find a work-around. He
set up my ATT account to forward emails, faxes, and voice mails to a separate
email account. We ran a test on all three and I was able to get them all.

My husband is working in Alaska this summer and I'm using his computer, so
I'm going to let him deal with the JAVA problem when he gets back. <g> It
doesn't seem to be interfering with anything else.
