ASUS Radeon 9200SE -- INF Error. Video Driver Not Found

C

Hello all,
I recently got a new SATA hard drive, put Win XP on it, made it the
boot drive and started downloading drivers, most of which installed all
right. (I kept the old drive connected, but it's not set to be the boot
drive.) The two problems I had were sound and video drivers - with
sound, the system kept telling me I didn't have a card. So I pulled it
out and put it in another PCI slot and then the system detected it and
they lived happily ever after.

But with my ASUS Radeon 9200SE graphics card, the Microsoft drivers
downloaded by default. Now when I try to install the latest drivers
from the ASUS site, I get 'INF Error. Video Driver Not Found' followed
a message about attempting to use VGA drivers first, followed by
another message 'graphics card not found.' So I went to the ATI site
and downloaded the latest drivers and they installed without a problem.
So I tried the ASUS driver again, and I got the same errors. Clearly
there's something wrong if it can't find my graphics card.

Here are my specs:

Intel Pentium 4 2.4c Ghz (Bx80532pg2400d) W/512k Cache 800mhz
Abit Vi7 Via Pt800 Chipset Serial Ata150 Atx Form Factor 1xagp
Multiwave 256mb Pc3200 400mhz Non-Ecc Ddr Dimm
40 GB Samsung SATA drive
80 GB Western Digital Caviar ATA drive
Asus Radeon 9200se-T
Enermax Cs-5171lbfs-S Mid Tower W/350w Atx Power Supply

Incidentally I did try to uninstall old and install new in safe mode,
but that didn't work either.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance,
Chris
