associate distribution lists with email

for some reason, when I imported my contacts to a new computer, I lost the
ability to choose the email addresses in my distribution lists. The only
contacts that show up are the ones in the "contacts" list. I imagine that I
need to put the distribution lists in the right place, but I don't know how
to find where they are now and where they need to be. Any help would be
great! thanks.

This is one of the reasons why you don't use the import function to move
data from one Outlook to another.
Distribution lists are one of the casualties of importing.
If you have access still to the old pst file, I think you can just do
File-Open-Outlook data file and drag the D/Ls from the old contact folder to
the new.
Otherwise you will have to re-create them I think.

Depending on your version of Outlook you might want to look at Categories
instead of Distribution lists - much easier to administer and are generally
far more robust than D/Ls...
