Hi! I would like to assign some hotkeys for various functions in the Vista
RTM. But, I am not sure where this is done, other than perhaps some
assignments in the EOA.

Where/how might I be able to assign some various hot keys in the Vista?

Jan :)

If you mean "shortcut keys" it is done the same way as in WinXP. Go to the
shortcut's properties and you can make an assignment there.

Hi Richard :-)

Thank you for your time and help, but, perhaps I have misstated what I need.
I want to reassign a keyboard key, such as F9 as an example, to do a
different function than its original function. How would I do that? Or is
it possible?

Jan :)

I don't know of a built in way to do this but many keyboards come with
software that will do this. e.g IntelliType, iTouch etc..

Hi Kerry :-)

Thank you very much. I'll see if there is one my keyboard. :-)

I thought you had to be xtra nerdy and geeky to be an MVP. Oh wait,
that's not an MSMVP.

Nah. I'm a Windows Internet Explorer MVP. We leave the nerdy and geeky to
the MS programmers. ;o))
