LOL...Limewire is an illegal file sharing program that can and will send
unlimited viruses and spyware to your computer.

You will not find anyone to help you with stealing copyrighted material,
which is the sole purpose of Limewire.

Best answer you'll get: Uninstall Limewire and pay for the software, music
and videos you want.

Actually Lime wire is not Illegal file sharing program it is a P2P file
sharing and id does have a disclaimer about sharing copyrighted material and
sharing illegal software. P2P programs are just that programs it is up to the
indvidual user how it is used saying it is illegal is like saying a FTP or
any program for sharing files is illegal, FTP Is built into most operating
systems including Linux. but you might want to look at www.limewire.com and
see if they have a fix for it.

Obviously, you have not been watching the news. Several P2P providers have
been shut down, and they *ARE* illegal. Having a disclaimer is no
justification, nor does it prevent what limewire exists for, the illegal
transfer of copyrighted material.

Note: Grokster was the latest shut down. Others, most notable napster, have
been shut down.
They exist to trade illegal software...and for no other reason. Your FTP
analogy does not hold water, as FTP and HTTP are not designed from the
ground up to share illegal software...if they were, they *would* be used as
such.

Actually i have seen the story about grokster and several other places that
have been shutdown but napster is still back in business and morpheus is
still there and refer to this story
http://www.publicknowledge.org/pressroom/releases/pressrelease.2005-06-27.0393116909
and this one http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051107/ap_on_hi_te/downloading_music

If you read the limewire website they do not approve of sharing copyrighted
material the P2P programs were created for file sharing no what files you
share are entirely up to you FTP is a file transfer now if i setup a FTP site
and put copyrighted files on the FTP site and gave 1 mil people access to the
ftp is that illeagal ??? Hell yes but if i just put pictures i have taken and
some midi files i created it isn't . Naptster is back up but they now have a
central location and charge for the music they sell and give the money to the
music industrie ( Which is what they wanted in the first place ) also is bit
torrent software products illegal since they can be used to share copyrighted
material ( And belive me you can find more copyrighted material via a bit
torrent that you can find via lime wire just get a searchable bit torrent
client and take a look ) do a search (Google, MSN, Ask Jeeves or any other
search engine ) for Bit torrents and see how many products and websites it
will give you adn take a look at www.uri-movies.tk or tmd.com and you can get
1st run downlaodable movies. I could go on and on about this but i could
never change another person view on the P2P software so i'll stop.

"Still in business" does not equate to legality. Eventually they will all
be shut down. they exist *ONLY* to facilitate illegal file sharing.
Napster is only back because it controls what is available, and there is no
P2P involved.

So according to your view all file sharing programs are made for Illegal file
sharing or is it only p2p programs. There are hunderds of file sharing and
like i said earlier ftp is a type of file sharing program and they are just
programs how there used are not the fault of the programers or the companies
that make software. Using your analogy all guns are illegal because some
people use them for illlegal purposes along with cars because sometimes they
are used for illegal purposes. Software is software just because some people
use it for ( what you and others consider illegal ) unauthorized purposes
doesn't mean it is ILLEGAL it just means that some people use it for illegal
purposes.

Guess you didn't read my responses after all.

I stated The FTP and HTTP are not easily used for P2P networks, and don't
apply. P2P networks exist *only* for the illegal transfer of copyrighted
material. If it were as easy to set up a peer network using plain vanilla
FTP only, then it would be abused also.

The guns and autos analogy does wash...P2P exists for one purpose and one
purpose only.
Guns and cars can be used in legal ways as well as illegal ways. I doubt
there is a single P2P user who uses P2P to only transfer "legal" software.

Bobby

Actually i never said that ftp was easy to setup ( I was for me ) you can get
ftp programs that act just like p2p programs and i don't recall saying
anything about http.

Your statement; "P2P exists for one purpose and one purpose only." is not
accurate P2P was orginally designed to allow gutella network users to share
files it is a Point 2 Point network. Just because some people are using it to
share copyrighted material doesn't mean everyone does i use a p2p program to
transfer files ( midi files ) to a friend who don't know how to use ftp ( I
have tried to talk him thru it 4 times so far ) I just had him download a p2p
client and attached to his pc whil he is online and then i send him the files
he uses them for his player piano. I have done this for my girlfriends
parents also i'm going to test a new p2p client i found that sends files and
live streams so mt girlfriend can send her digital pictures and also talk
with her parents.

It's Gnutella, and P2P stands for "Peer to Peer".
FTP and HTTP are legitimate.
Every P2P (Peer to Peer) exists only for the purpose of sharing files.
There are other utilities
(Remote Desktop, PC Anywhere) that allow access to files for legitimate
purposes. P2P networks allow sharing files across an open network. You can
continue to try to justify their existence, but it will not alter the
truth...they exist to share files illegally. Period. End of line.
