ASR without floppy drive?

C

Chris

Hi,
Is it possible to create an ASR (under XP pro, of course)
without a floppy drive? Can I use a CD or a directory on
a (non-system) partition? The laptop I wish to set up an
ASR for has no floppy drive.

Thanks,
Chris

Rich, I appreciate your response, but this is bad info!!!
The ASR floppy is not a bootable floppy and your link did
not help.

Can anyone answer this question?

if you want any help don't post with crytic abbreviations!
if you want to boot the comp and have an xp cd you can
boot from that.

Chris, you are correct. You indeed need a floppy to process a Automated
System Recovery. Somehow
my head got stuck on CD and bootable CD's. So though my instructions were
inappropriate the info was
certainly not bad but perhaps not useful to your particular situation. I
leave this a little wiser.

Hello Chris,
The answer is no. ASR needs to have a floppy, no way to redirect it.
