Arial italic different hight in Access2K

hello,

i have a access2000 report on a W2K machine.

I like to have two multiline labels with several lines of text next to
each other.
both Normal font

The left one ( english ) is standard 10-pt arial
the right one ( dutch ) is italic 10-pt Arial

Alas, the hight of these lines is equal in design view but different
in preview and print.
I tried both "layout for print"settings with no result.
Result is that after one or two lines the translated texts are not at
the same level anymore.

I use a lot of lines, so to create all diffenet lines for each item is
not a pleasant option.

I use the fonts Arial.ttf and ariali.ttf

Any suggestion is very welcome

Well, I've never noticed this before, but I slapped together
a simple test report and sure enough it is different.

Using two extra text boxes in the report's detail section, I
added code to the Print event to display the .Height of each
of the two memo text boxes so I could see that each Arial
normal line is 2 twips taller than italic (4 twips when
Bold).

However, when I tried it with the Arial Unicode, Tahoma and
Times New Roman fonts, they are the same.

Try it with various fonts on your machine to see if you can
find an acceptable one that doesn't have this problem.
