Welcome to World Community Grid's newsletter!

World Community Grid will soon be celebrating its 4th anniversary! We are very proud to have been able to join two important groups together: Individuals who want to make a difference and scientists eager to significantly advance their humanitarian research. In the four years that World Community Grid has been running, 10 research projects have launched, and many research milestones have been reached. Going forward, World Community Grid will be running a number of exciting new research projects, so stay tuned.

Running more research requires additional computing power, so World Community Grid always welcomes new members who wish to dedicate the unused cycles of their computers to humanitarian research. So to get more people to join World Community Grid, we have begun a video challenge, which you can learn more about in this newsletter. Also included in this newsletter are testimonials from members who are inspired by and excited about their participation in World Community Grid.

We hope you find this newsletter informative.

With this tremendous power, World Community Grid is able to run five projects at the same time. In December of 2008 we will be announcing our next exciting project so stay tuned for that. Our schedule also has several additional projects starting in early 2009. Read more for updates for all the projects that are currently running on World Community Grid as well as those that have finished running on World Community Grid. [read more]
