Archive retention policy in Outlook 2002

"Archive" and "retention policy" may be two separate things. You can
control archive settings on File>Archive. If you're connected to an
Exchange server, the term "retention policy" may refer to the Delete Items
retention policy (i.e., how long you can recover items emptied from your
Deleted Items folder) which is unrelated to archiving. What do _you_ mean
by the term?

The terms are what appear when in Outlook and I go into Tools -
Options - AutoArchive: bottom of the screen "Retention Policy" -
"The network administrator has not set retention policies." There
is no network administrator - it is ME.

Why do you believe that value must be set? What's your goal?

"Retention policy" can also refer to group policy settings created by the network administrator to enforce certain AutoArchive settings.
