Archive Email

Using Outlook 2003 for a while now; a user cannot find older emails from a
particular sub folder and assumes it was autoarchived--because he's been
getting the pop-up message of wanting to AutoArchive. However as I restored
all his .pst's to search for his missing/old emails & subfolder I could not
find them...also in his archive.pst's the only folders that loaded were
Deleted Items and Sent Items...should it have archived the whole list of
folders/tree/mailbox? I believe in his other email folders, he's got the same
aged emails in his inbox and not archived at all.

So my asumption was, maybe he did manual archive--but that was shot down
because he never did one or knows how.

I read a few questions about archiving that were posted and there was
mentioning of Hidden items? When should I look for this option?

Or should I throw in the towel and accept the fact that these emails could
have been deleted instead of archived? I hope I didn't confuse you folks...

Have you checked in the particular subfolder the Archive options/path etc

I checked the path of the subfolder and in the Archive tab, "Archive Items in
this folder using the default settings" is selected and the Archive setting
is set to the original path to the intended .pst.
