Applying personal settings lockup

Okay I've recently experienced the issue where, after every fresh reinstall
of XP Pro I get the hangup once I type in my admin password and it begins to
apply my personal settings, everything goes dead. More info on the issue

Now I called support, but apparently they aren't open on Christmas Eve, what
would they tell me to do over the phone? Or maybe someone else knows of a
fix for this?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Happy Holidays
 
Did you ever hear back from them about what to do? I have only 1 xp machine that seems to hang. It also hangs when you log off one username and then want to log in as a diff. user. UGH
