Applying Design Template

I'm having problems with a .pot file. I've saved to my "templates" folder.
It has 3 design layout masters (title, slide, chapter). When I open in
'slide sorter' view I only see the title master.

When I copy slides from another presentation ... it applies the title master
to ALL slides.

Compare this to an older .pot file with 3 design layout masters. This file
I see all 3 in slide sorter and when I copy presentations ... each slide
master is used/pasted correctly.

HELP! How do I reformat the new .pot so I can copy presentations WITHOUT
applying new design for each slide?

When you open your template, click "View", "Master", "Slide Master". What
do you see in the this view? Title Master only? All three?
