apply a sound wave file when new mail arrives.

I am tring to apply a wave file when new mail arrives,I have set the mail
client in internet options, setup the wave in sounds and applied the sound I
placed it in windows media folder.when new mail arrives I get no notification
vebally from the speakers

Do you have the "Play a sound" box checked on the Tools>Options>E-mail
Options>Advanced E-mail Options dialoge page?
