application works in one profile but not another

After experiencing a corrupted admin profile I am having problems with a
couple of applications that work fine in the new profile I created but not
in the recreated admin logon. Per advice on this forum I renamed the
administrator folder and allowed the system to recreate the profile, but now
there are these several applications that will no longer function under the
admin logon. If I start them, they hang at the splash screen and the task
manager informs me that the program is not responding.

After changing folder view options I know see that there are folders called
Application data. Is this related to the problem. There are Application data
folders in the renamed Administrator folder that are not appearing in the
new Administrator folder the system created after the rename.

Copy the folders to the same place in the new Admin profile you
ceated. With a bit of luck it'll work. Only other option is to
reinstall the apps. on the new profile.

No luck, I guess. Tried the copy method, but the applications still don't
function.
