keyboard works in one profile but not in another on windows xp

I Use windows XP and till last night had no problem with keyboard, today the keyboard works fine in one profile but not at all in main administrator profile.

Please advise

First, rule out the keyboard, try a substitute.

If problem is the same with substitute keyboard, try a different USB port (assuming it's a USB connection).

Try those for now and welcome to the forum

the keyboard is definitely NOT the problem as it works fine when I'm logged on to a different profile

Ok, if you're quite convinced it's not the keyboard have you tried the keyboard in a different USB port as I suggested. That could be relevant to profile.
