admin profile corrupted

Is there any way to restore original admin settings and allow me access
again now that the admin profile has been corrupted?
I can logon as a "guest" (if that's the correct term) but I cannot get into
my original settings so I can't - for instance - get to all the data in my
Outlook application, not to mention all the other custom settings I had with
other apllications and setups.

Rename the corrupted profile so that a new profile will
be created when you next log on as admin. You will
have to recreate your custom settings. Your Outlook
data will still be in your .PST file (and I hope that you
back it up on a daily basis!).

Thank you so much for your reply!
What file would I be renaming? What is the profile file name and where is
it?

- Log on under your alternative admin account
- Rename "c:\documents and settings\administrator" to
something else.
- Log on under your main admin account. A new profile
will be created for you.

If you don't have an alternative admin account then ask
yourself how many sets of keys you want for your car,
and why it's more than one set. The same applies to your
PC: Two admin accounts, with the password for one
of them locked away, is the bare minimum. Create the
second one now, while you can!
