I cannot have one user open a file in an application
without putting her Administrator of the pc. If she's a
power user, we get prompt with a I/O error when she's
trying to open the file. I added her in the security
settings of the application but it didn't changed
anything. I don't like the idea of putting the user as
administrator of the pc.

Help!!!
..

I'd ask the people who make this application. Some things just don't behave
very well if the user running them isn't an admin.

I've just upgraded from NT 4.0 to W2K3 server. Do you
think it has anything to do with that.

Not unless you mean you upgraded the user's workstation like this.

one way to work around this is to put domain account in power users (local
group) or local users group and configure the app to "run as" local account.
give this local acccount admistrative privilege and set the local secpol not
to allow this account to login locally.... only service and patch service.

let me know how that goes.
