Debugger problem, tried everything!

Hi there,

I have Windows XP Home edition (recent new install) and when trying to run The Sims 3, I get the following message:

The application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

Process ID= 0x8c (140) Thread ID= 0xd8 (216)

Click OK to terminate the application.
Click CANCEL to debug the application.

When I click CANCEL to debug it comes up with:

No registered JIT debugger was specified.

Click on Retry to have the process wait while attaching a debugger manually.
Click on Cancel to abort the JIT debug request.

I have already tried Dependency Walker, where I found that a couple of dll files were missing, which I have now sorted, the only remaining issue that Depends picks up on is with the mpr.dll file, where it says that wnetrestoreconnectiona has a problem. I can't seem to fix this, even though I have run the SFC scanner and inserted the Windows XP disc.

The Sims 3 game was running perfectly well until I had to reinstall Windows.

Can anybody please help, I am at the end of my tether!

Thank you in advance.

Laura.
