Outlook 2007 w/ Vista Home Premium

-Every time I launch Outlook 2007 I get the error about MSVCR80.DLL not
found. I have reinstalled Office 2007 Premium. I have also check for the
Outlook manifest file which does not exist. All other Office 2007 apps
launch without a problem.

This is a brand new PC so it is very frustrating. Help!
Thanks.

If your PC happens to be an Acer then the cause is the Acer eDataSecurity
add-in.
To solve all your woe's open Regedit and navigate to this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\OAddin.Addin

Change the LoadBehaviour to be 1

Restart Outlook. Tada

Start > Run > Regedit

It's the Windows Registry Editor. Do a quick google search and you'll find
out plenty.

I also have an Acer, and this all started with install Vista SP! (Outlook
2007), I did the regedit change but doesn't help. When I go to Oultook which
I can only start from the Start menu Email link, and try to uncheck addins in
trust center it tells me I cannot change addins that re registered in hkey
etc.

Now I see that I don't even have the search function anymore.

I've tried your suggestions, still cannot run Outlook. Mine is not an Acer,
it a stand alone Pc running Windows 7, All upto date downloads. Worked fine
for a few weeks, have a feeling it went pear shaped after a switch off
download? Tried using regedit as suggested else where. Still no good. Help.
All other Office Apps Work

AMD Phenom 9950 4Core Proc, 8Gb Ram, Asus Motherboard

Aside from Roady's excellent suggestion do you have any part of Norton installed .
Did your computer also come with a Trial of Norton by any chance or was Norton
installed at any time

I had this problem with Excel: I created a quick launch button by dragging (copying) the Excel Application from the Windows Explorer Window in the directory C:/Program Files/MS Office/Office12 on the taskbar and tried to start Excel for the first time after installation. The problem occured and remained no matter what I tried.

By chance I started Excel from Start / All Programs / Microsoft Office / Microsoft Office Excel 2007, and everything worked. I then dragged the icon from there on the taskbar, and the quick launch button works now fine. Actually, even starting the Excel application directly in the "Office 12" directory works properly, only when creating the quick launch button from there, you're lost - I do not have the least idea how to explain this behaviour!
