one care doesn't cause that error but Norton products have been known to.

use system restore to go back a day or to today before you tried to remove
OneCare.

I don't believe it's necessarily related to security software. It's related
to Outlook plug-ins, which could be anything; I've had that confirmed by both
Microsoft and Acer; Acer have sent me guidance to edit the registry, I'm
getting out of my depth but will try it and post their advice if it works.
I've had to do some serious complaining because at first Acer and Microsoft
just blame each other and then refuse to help, but keep perservering and
they'll bend. The truth is probably that it's neither of them but some third
party add-on, possibly supplied by Acer because it seems that everyone with
the problem has it on an Acer.

Mike, thank you. I too have noticed that it seems to be with
Acer.
Can you send me what Acer sent to you? I will try it too and maybe if it
works wirh both of us we will know it's the acer. Also, it might be helpful
to both nbe trying and then we can bounce ideas off one another. I am so
frustrated with this thing.
Thank you so much.
Diane, I never thought it was realted to security software. My one care is
fine. Any other ideas?

What you need to do is insert your Office 2007 install disk, then go to add/remove components, then expand Outlook, expand outlook add ins, then make all of the add ins not available. This should take care of your problem.

According to microsoft, the most common cause of this problem is basically that add ins are trying to install at the same time as outlook. They say that this is caused by add ins that are from the OEM of your computer, but my office CD is directly from Microsoft, and I still had the same problem. As soon as I removed the "Microsoft" add ins, the problem went away. But then it is typical of Microsoft to not admit their own errors!

No, Microsoft is correct on this one. You have installed something that has
modified the manifest file for Outlook (which is in the Office 12 folder).
By doing the add/remove of addins, you also did a repair on Office which
resulted in the manifest file being fixed again. You can safely add the
Microsoft addins again without corrupting the manifest file. As long as you
don't take care about the 3rd party addin that modified the manifest file,
it could happen again to you. The addins Microsoft supply with Office 2007
do not corrupt the manifest file.

I'm having the same issue - I have Vista Business and have loaded MS Office 2007 Enterprise. I am able to access Excel and Work with no errors. I was able to access Outlook 2007 to setup a POP3 email. Once configured, every time I try to open Outlook, I received an error relating to a missing MSVCR80.DLL file.

I noticed a mention on the web relating to the ACER eSecurityData Manager maybe causing some other somewhat related problems. I uninstalled MS Office 2007, Uninstalled the Acer eSecurityData Manager then reinstalled Office and I am now able to open Outlook without getting the error relating to the MSVCR80.DLL file.

Good luck and let me know if anyone has success. I have contacted Acer via their email support to determine if any updates are available to fix this issue.
