Outlook 2007 and Windows Vista

Good day.
I'm having a horrible problem with Microsoft Outlook 2007 on a new Acer
laptop running Vista Home Premium.
The program ran while I was setting it up and before I finished setting it
up, it crashed.
Now, I get a window: Outlook.exe - Unable to locate component. This
application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found.
Reinstalling the application may fix the problem.

Actually, reinstalling the application did not fix the problem, nor did
building a new Outlook profile.

Any ideas?

Bill, My Acer, ($349 at Walmart two weeks ago) has the same problem with
outlook. The other office applications seem to work fine. The first time I
ran Outlook after install it worked. Thereafter, it will not load or run.

I hope someone can help us with the problem.

I searched all over the place looking for a solution and didn't find one,
that completely solved the problem. However, I was able to get the computer
to work based upon some hints I got from troubleshooting the system and
reading online. Actually it was solved some time ago. I make no guarantees,
but this is what I recollect.
I installed the C++ Runtime
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...ee-a3f9-4c13-9c99-220b62a191ee&displaylang=en

Then, start outlook in safe mode and disable the Acer add ins - I believe it
was the security one in particular.

It isn't my laptop, but they have had it for awhile and no complaints.
I hope this helps.

Disabling all Outlook's add-ins (only removing Acer programs did not help)
while in safe mode worked until Office 2007 SP1 came. After installing it no
disabling of Outlook add-ins helps anymore. Problem unsolved again.

I have an Acer Ferrari 5000 ($ca. 4000) and I have the same Problem at all.

The problem came first after you have answered the RSS-Feed-question. And if
you say Yes or no is equal. The Mistake came up and never go away.
I hope Microsoft has fired the programmer of this snippet!!!
