After upgrading the Anti-spyware for Windows Defender in my Windows 2000
system I get the following message when I try to run it:
Application filed to initialize: 0x80010534
and a message telling that "mapping between account names and security IDs
are not done"

Any idea about what is happening?

thank you

Have you seen this thread? It's seems to have
helped some other people in a similar situation with Win2000.

Dave,

Thank you for your help. Just read the thread and tried the suggested
solution but the problem seems to be a bit different. The service do
initialize and run well. I get the error message when I try to start the
WinDefender from the programs menu.

My Windows 2000 is in Portuguese (brazil) version.

Aerotatu;

Obrigado, I know also that many people with Win 2000 also need GDIplus
installed, assuming you've done that there was a fix back in February to
fix the non-English versions of WD, are you running these current versions?
Windows Defender Version: 1.1.1347.0

Engine Version: 1.1.1440.0

If not, you probably should try to upgrade, other than that I don't see a
fix for your specific error message in scanning the forums, so we probably
should get Steve Dodson to weigh in with Microsoft's response. This KB is
the last I see on the issue of non-English WD version problems:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/915087/en-us

Within these forums, I don't think the specific
"mapping between account names and security IDs are not done"
message was ever fully resolved. The last I see it mentioned (without
resolution) is:

Dave,

I have the GDI+ installed and the defender is the last one. Seems that
Microsoft will need to release a new correction to non English Windows 2000.
Anyway thank you for your prompt help. Obrigado!
