I been getting a startup error for the past few weeks and I tried a few
things to solve my problems. It seems this occured after one of the Windows
updates. Now the update shield pops up on my taskbar for 1 minute then
disappears.
I looked in the Event viewer and found the error message that pops up on
startup in the Application Events.
I tried searching this event on Microsoft's website and found nothing. I was
told to try another website that had tons of Event ID problems and how to fix
them. The one that was for svchost --> msi.dll said to reinstall Windows
Installer 3.1 redistributable. I downloaded the program and installed it on
top of the current one and nothing happened. I didn't want to uninstall it
because it showed a list of programs that wont work afterwards.
