Hi to the group,
I recently accidentally associated a .pdf file with Internet Explorer and
that pesky little check box that "always use the selected program to open
this type of file" was checked. I want to re-associate the .pdf's with
Adobe 5 (the version I'm running) but after trying cannot seem to get it. I
have tried the browse option and have found and selected the Adobe 5 .exe -
but it does not subsequently appear in the list of programs available for
association.

TIA for any help.

Regards (and Happy New Year to All),

RickO'Shay.

In Windows Explorer, click the TOOLS menu|FOLDER OPTIONS|FILE TYPES tab
and select the .pdf entry. Click the ADVANCED button, then choose the
Open action and click EDIT. Point the path to the application desired,
and click on OK to exit.

Hi Dev,
Thanks for the help after firing up the second brain cell I got it!

Right-click a PDF. Go to Open With and go to More Programs. Find
Acrobat and select always use.
