APPLET tag isn't runing

Hi,
I have been trying to play web games and I get this message- "Your browser
understands the APPLET tag but isn't running the applet, for some reason".
Your browser is ignoring the <applet> TAG.
Can somebody tell me how I can solve this please?

Hi Bee,

That error occurs as a result of the HTML coding on WebPages when
it detects that JAVA isn't properly installed on your system. This over
simplification can be seen if you visit the following page to see the code:
http://javaboutique.webdeveloper.com/quest/ What does this mean?

You need to install Java.

I have now installed Java, so fingers crossed, my problems are solved.
