Customer support never will help unless they KNOW it's
their problem, and even then they like to try and dish
you off. One of my great frustrations with support -
it's always someone else's problem!
You can help narrow the problem down. Try loading one of
the other browsers out there and see if they work fine on
the DSL connection. If they do, but IE does not, that
might tell you something. When you use AOL, also
consider - do you simply use the built-in browser, or do
you minimize AOL and launch IE? Also check to see if
your DSL connection has added any proxy or other settings.
You may be able to narrow down the sites, and might even
find a neighbor who has the same provider (it's worth a
shot!) to test their browser on the same site.
Also, find out WHAT doesn't load - Active X controls?
Graphics? Error 500? What exactly does it mean that the
site doesn't load? Is it a Java aplet that isn't loading
because you don't have the AOL software running?
Just thoughts - good luck!
