App Event Log won't come up

Hi All,

Does anyone know why whenever I try to open the App Event
Log that it doesn't come up and closes the Manage Computer
screen? I tried to open the log by clicking on the log as
well as right clicking and then opening it. Both ways do
not work. How can I see the App Event Log? I was able to
see it before but now it won't even come up.

I have not heard of it causing this particular problem, but there is a known
problem with Event Log corruption. See "Event logs are corrupted" at

Hi Jason,

Thank you for those articles. It looks like the
Application Event log was corrupted. I recreated it and I
can see current issues going on. Do you know of a way to
fix the corrupted event log?

file got corrupted. I recreated the application event
file and it is now working again. Do you know how I could
fix the other file?

Unfortunately, you can't do anything with a corrupted log.
As a precaution, you could do a regular backup of you event logs.
