There is no autocomplete in Outlook. Depending on your version Outlook will
cache reviously typed addresses. For name checking use CTRL+K (CTRL+M for
some other local versions)

You need to be using Outlook 2002 or 2003 for this. Click
Tools>Options>E-mail Options>Advanced E-mail Options. It's at the bottom.

Rob,

Go to: Tools, Option, Preferences Tab, E-Mail Options, Advanced E-Mail
Aptions and check the box next to "Suggest names when completing To:, Cc:,
and Bcc: fields.

This info. isn't stored in your Contact folder like it was in OE. It is
stored in system folder called an NK2 file.

Hope this helps.

Roady,

I hate to contradict you, but Outlook definitely DOES have an autocomplete
feature. The stored autocomplete data is in a file known as an NK2 file.
We have spent much time working with these files and I feel that I can
honestly say that we know them intimately!

There are essentially two flavors of the autocomplete file, Vanilla for the
Standalone version of Outlook and Vanilla with toppings for Outlook users
connecting through an Exchange server.

The two file types are completely different. And, I might add that they are
very mysterious in their structure.

In any event, if you want to know more about them, feel free to write me at
(e-mail address removed).

Just an FYI for ya!

It's not an autocomplete but a cache of address you've typed before. An
autocomplete feature would be addresses resolving from within your Address
Book while you type. Like you said yourself; this is not the case, these
cached addresses are coming from an NK2 file.
