AOL Safety and Security Center

Is AOL Safety and Security Center any good? I've got it on my
computer, along with McAfee SecurityCenter 7, but I am continually
surprised at spyware that AOL detects that McAfee doesn't. Plus,
McAfee scans take *forever*, and they don't seem to have any sort of a
"quick scan" option. So is AOL good, or McAfee bad, or what?

I used AOL Safety and Security Center for a while, and I got no complaints. I
always thought AOL S&S was powered by MacAfee.

I started using them, when I got up to 4PC's, two laptops at home, and at
the time, I was using Nortons and they told me I had to buy ONE copy for each
PC, though nowadays, I hear you can do up to three PCs's. They told me this
when I had to reinstall and Norton, and register. The other problem with
Nortons 2006 (I had prior versions also) and it hogs the CPU, and causes the
PC to slow to a crawl. I haven't had these problems with AOL S&S.

With a 7 and a 9 year old, I found the AOL parental control very useful. I
was a paying AOL customer, and now I understand it's for free, but I opted to
pay a few dollars a month for support, and unlimited on line storage.

Also, on one PC where I had Nortons and AOL S&S running, AOL seemed to have
found more spyware than Nortons.
