Anyway to fix "find" feature?

Hi... today i was crazy finding an excel workbook i knew i have worked on
about 3 days ago... (i recived it by mail, edited, and saved)

I search by a lot of parameters, but couldn't find it...

Luky for me, i had also a good program (windows commander) and do the
search... the file was in the temporary internet cache folder...

Is there anyway to thisable this -not-so-smart feature of search that thinks
that when i'm searching a file i only want to search on some folders?

Hi
On the search menu, select 'More advanced options' and
check 'Search hidden files and folders'. It is turned off
by default.

Advanced settings. Frankly, though, it made me cringe to hear that
your file was saved in any kind of temp folder. Temp folders have a
way of being... temporary.
