ANyone using remote desktop?

I realize this isn't directly related to Access, but I'm desperate. I support
an access appl that runs on a terminal services server. I have been using
Windows remote desktop to access that server. After months of doing this,
all of the sudden I can't connect - when I try to start my remote desktop
session it times out on me. I called earthlink, they were of no help. I've
done internet searches up the wazoo but haven't found a solution. I can't
find any reason why this would suddenly start to happen. My web acccess works
fine, and I can use remote desktop from this laptop from friend's houses via
their wireless connections, but from my house it isn;t working any more. Any
ideas what a solution might be?

Somebody somewhere has heightened security. You'll have to find out who, how,
and where.

TS typically uses port 3389. Web pages typically use port 80. So
knowing that your web access works unfortunately isn't going to help
with the trouble shooting.

Now that's rather interesting that it works from your friends house
but not yours. Do you have a new firewall in place? Is your ISP
suddenly blocking port 3389?

Probably not what you're looking for but I've recently found this
www.teamviewer.com
which is great for ad-hoc support to remote users.
Very easy to use, no configuration needed.
