Anyone having trouble with Quicktime?

I am running Windows XP Professional with SP2 update. I was going to
download the new QuickTime, but I hesitate because it seemed to cause
problems when I downloaded once before and I could not get it to work very
well--plus, it set itself up in my system tray.

Is anyone running the newest version of QuickTime having problems with it or
other software after loading it? Does it have to stay in my system tray?

When you get Quick Time, or any other program, you have to control IT - you
don't allow IT to control YOU.

Look at the programs preferences and remove it from the notification area
easily!

Right-click on the QuickTime Icon. Under General preferences,
uncheck the box that puts the icon in the system tray.

And, overall, no issues with running QuickTime in our Windows
XP units, even after SP2.

Thanks for the info. I have run across some programs that did not work
properly if they were not in the sys tray. Wanted to make sure that this
was not one of them.

Hey you crusty old bastard ... if you're as old as you make out to be, one
would think you would have learned by now that top posting in Usenet is
very amateurish. Nobody replies in a conversation before a question is
asked and the same applies in Usenet. Just because you use a kid's toy like
Outlook Express as a news reader that automatically, in a reply, puts the
cursor at the top of the message, is no excuse.

Windows is *NOT* a virus. Viruses are small and efficient.

And to make sure, start|Run|msconfig, in the Startup tab look for qttask and
make sure it's not checked.

Are we supposed be trying to be professional?

You are assuming he needs an excuse. OE rocks if you know how to use it ...

Alias, who top posts, in lines posts, middle posts and bottom posts.

No just courteous enough to keep threads readable AND not so lazy that you
can't be bothered to move the damn cursor down and reply properly within a
message. It really does help down the road when someone is googling for
info and wants to get the gist of a message thread. Having the
"conversation" backasswards, is just plan stupid and lazy and as I said,
amateurish in Usenet.

If linux is so great why don't you use it instead of hanging around
here criticizing Windows, which may have its flaws but overall is
practical and stable?

(a) He is using Linux -- he's posting from KNode
(b) Windows is not practical or stable
(c) What are you so bothered anyway?

By the way, careful with attribution. You quoted NoStop's .sig, not
