Anyone else having issues with the reading pane?

I use the reading pane all the time, but the last couple of days have had
some difficulty. I click on the message and nothing appears in the reading
pane...

I have made no changes to the settings, yet still no preview...Urgh!

And your configuration would be...?
Does it work in Outlook Safe Mode?
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe

Hi Robert,

WOW that was quick :)

Actually the configuration I refer to is using the selection of "View";
"Reading Pane"; "Right". I have been using Outlook for about 15 years or
thereabouts. The only recent, but not too recent, changes was to get a new
'puter unfortunately loaded with Vista :/ But this 'puter is now nearly 2
mos old, so I thought I might have the kinks out...but it appears perhaps not.

Only yesterday I started having problems viewing the emails in the reading
preview pane. Normally they would load within a second or two, but now they
do not. Sometimes if I double click on the email, it will open the
individual email and sometimes I can view it, sometimes not. If I do open
and individual email and then close it, "sometimes" again, then I will be
able to view the email in the reading pane and sometimes not.

I have tried clearing caches, cold booting, restarting computer, outlook
etc. but am unable to figure out why this is happening...

I also have some minor (?) issues with Vista, but that is another forum.

Hopefully it will get figured out at some point.

Thanks again for the quick response.

This is not related to Vista in any way.
Again; how does it work in Outlook Safe Mode?

Ok, first I had to find the "run" command in Vista - found it :)
Then I tried outlook.exe/safe - that did not work.

Then I tried:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\OUTLOOK.EXE\safe
That did not work.

I just tried:
outlook.exe\safe
That isn't working either.

What do you suggest?

Thanks!

Ok, got it to start in safe mode...but right now it doesn't seem to matter.
The reading pane (for now) works both ways.

Will have to see what happens, when it happens again I guess.

Thanks :)
