Hi.. i just started my Windows Mail account, was using web based mail
before. I cant seem to find how to checkmark multiple emails for
deleting, moving to folders, etc. seems a real pain to take care of mail one
by one as they open. Also if there is a way to close mail so the top one isnt
always open in the preview box?

thanks

Press control and highlight the ones you want to delete, when you have
highlighted the ones to be deleted, press delete.

Don't know the answer to your second question....sorry

You can turn off the Preview pane,
View - Layout
Preview Pane
uncheck [ ] Show Preview pane
ok

But what's wrong with having it open?

Turn off the Preview Pane.

Select a message. If you hold down the Shift key while clicking another it
will select everything in between. If you hold down the Ctrl key while
clicking it will just select (or unselect) that one in addition to what is
already selected.

If you select a message and press Ctrl-A it will select all messages.
